'The work is engaged with an editing or re-programming of the forms and systems of our urban environments. Making use of existing frictions between aesthetic value and utilitarian function, I navigate the inter-play between social convention and the fabricated world. I aim to involve the receptor of my work with an active generation of meaning in which their own subjectivity is key.'

Sam Treadaway specialised in fine art, at Winchester School of Art. Currently basing his practice from a studio within the Spacex Gallery, Exeter and a group work space located in East London, Treadaway continues to develop his chosen role as an artist.
